STUDIO Policies
TUITION
-
Our tuition is consolidated into 4 installments based on a 32-36 week dance season. We offer a multi class/sibling discount of 20% off. Unlimited tuition is available for 5 or more classes a week. NO REGISTRATION FEES EVER!

Our season runs from September through May with our recital usually the first weekend of June.

Statements are e-mailed out a week prior to the due date.

Convenient Automatic Payments: All families are enrolled in auto pay.

Families will have the leisure to pay tuition and costume installments prior to the due date with payment of choice

On the due date, the balance that is left on your account will be ran with the credit card on file.

Late Fees: Any credit card transactions that comes back with insufficient funds will be charged a late fee of $35.00 if it is not corrected by the end of the day the transaction was due/ran.

A $10 late fee will be applied per costume to any account holding a costume fee balance after December 1st.

If an account comes back with a declined credit card on the due date, Mainstream Dance Academy will attempt to run payment again the next day.

Payments can be made online via the parent portal, over the phone, or with cash, check, or charge at the front desk.

Account balances must be clear after their due date before a student may participate in any classes, performances, or competitions.

Checks should be made payable to Mainstream Dance Academy. Receipts are available at your request. There is a $35 service charge on returned checks.

Delinquent accounts of more than 30 days and/or students that have excessive absences may not be eligible to participate in the MDA recital/performance and/or may be dropped from the dance class entirely. Unpaid balances will go to collections after 30 days of no communication from the family.

Mainstream Dance Academy reserves the right to charge any credit cards on file for any past due balances for tuition or miscellaneous items (tights, water, private lessons, apparel).

ROLLOVER REGISTRATION

MDA offers an easier enrollment process so that our current families don't miss out on the fastest filling classes

Families have the option to rollover their membership for the next year or to opt out by filling out an online form

MDA handles the process of enrolling current students in classes based off of the results of the Online Rollover Registration form
MEMBERSHIP

MDA's annual membership enables students to participate in weekly classes at Mainstream Dance Academy

It also allows students, their parents, and other family members to take advantage of special priveleges and 'Members Only' offers

There are no refunds for missed classes. Make-up classes are optional and based on availability. Make-ups must be made within two weeks of the absence unless approved by management.

Basic Members are allowed 3 make-up classes for the dance season

Premium Members are allowed unlimited make-up classes for the dance season within reason

Credit will not be given for missed classes due to illness, snow days, or personal commitments. You are welcome to make-up any class missed.
COSTUME PAYMENTS
-
All students that are enrolled in a performance class are required to participate in the annual recital. The cost of the costume is $95 per performance class and is due in on December 1st. Costumes will not be distributed until
they are paid in full. Families are responsible for full payment once the costume has been ordered. ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN FOR COSTUMES.
WITHDRAW FROM CLASSES

In the event a student needs to withdraw from class prior to the end of the season, the withdraw must be submitted via the 'Withdraw Request Form' under the Parent Portal tab on our website. There are no tuition refunds. You are not obligated to pay for the balance of the school year, however you will be responsible for any balance due. Your enrollment constitutes a “class reservation” meaning that both classroom and teacher time are reserved and students who potentially could have taken your child’s spot may have been turned away.

Refunds are not given for short-term illness or injuries.

Long term absences for illness or injury for 4 weeks or more will be given school credit only.
ABSENCES/CLOSINGS
-
Regular attendance is very important for dancers to reach their full potential. Make-up classes may be available if your child must miss class. There are no credits, reimbursement, or free tuition granted for absences, cancellations due to weather or other events/pandemics or otherwise, out of our control. Please check the Instagram and/or Facebook page for closings due to inclement weather. It is up to MDA management to decide whether it is essential to make up these classes.
DRESS CODE
-
Appropriate dance attire and shoes are required for each registered class. Shoes and dance attire can be purchased from our website or will be billed to your account. Class dress codes are outlined on our website. Each student must have the required shoe color and style for each class. Students should have their hair pulled back and out of their face at all times. Students are required to wear tights and leotards for all classes except for hip hop. Leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes with a hair in bun must be worn for Level1-3 Ballet classes. After three warnings, children will be asked to sit out until they are in proper dance attire.
RECITAL

All students taking a performance class are required to attend our end of year recital and class picture day. We do not charge a recital fee or require a set amount of tickets to be purchased for our recital.Ad book participation is optional. Any student with an overdue account balance will not be permitted to perform in recital. All students are required to attend both the dress rehearsal and recital and must have all costume pieces and shoes. Any child that does not have all required costume pieces/shoes may not be permitted to dance in the recital. In the event a student does not know the choreography or has an excessive amount of absences, Mainstream Dance Academy reserves the right to withhold them from performing in the recital.
STUDENT/PARENT EXPECATIONS AND ETIQUETTE

It is expected that all students conduct themselves in a respectful and appropriate manner.

Parents will be notified if their child is disruptive in class.
-
If a child is too disruptive week after week, the child may be removed from the class.
-
Siblings brought into the studio who are not taking class must be supervised at all times.
-
No children behind the front desk or running down the halls.
-
Students who are struggling to pick up choreography may be placed in a different class upon the discretion of the teacher or MDA staff.
NO BULLYING POLICY
-
Negative comments made by students, parents, and/or family members made in person, on social media, or brought to the attention of the studio owner in regard to teaching style, other students’ abilities, choreography, dance formations, and/or song selections will not be tolerated. Mainstream Dance Academy, has zero tolerance for bullying and if found, is cause for immediate dismissal from our program. If you have a genuine concern about any of the above, please reach out to the front desk to set up an appointment with the studio director.
PICK-UP AND DROP OFF

Please do not leave your child unattended before or after class. Our staff will not be able to monitor your child when she or he is not in the classroom. In the event that you are delayed, your child must wait in the waiting room to be picked up. The studio is not responsible for children who leave the premises.
STUDIO INFORMATION

You will receive monthly Newsletters via email the first week of each month regarding important studio information. Please refer to these to keep yourself up to date on all information. You can also refer to our studio website (www.mainstreamdanceacademy.com). Please download the phone app called Band. In this app, we have important dates and you can view dances for your child to practice for recital. Our studio is under video surveillance 24/7 for the safety and protection of our students, teachers, and dance families. MDA reserves the right to share video surveillance if necessary.
GOVERNMENT MANDATED CLOSURE
-
In the event of a government mandated closure, classes will convert to virtual classes and instruction will continue. There may be an approximate one-week transition period from the date of the closure until virtual classes begin, in order to allow us to implement our action plan. This brief time period, if needed, will be treated as inclement weather days, meaning your dancer can choose a convenient make-up class from an appropriate class on our schedule. No refunds will be given for this week.
